Etnofon

Editorial Board: Marija Klobčar, Mojca Kovačič, Drago Kunej, Jan Ovnik, Teja Turk
Period: since 2023

Etnofon collection is dedicated to annotated publications of selected sound material held by the Institute of Etnomusicology of ZRC SAZU. Due to the introduction of new forms of music distribution, we have decided to establish a new collection to replace the collection of CDs (and accompanying booklets with text) called From the Archives of the Institute of Etnomusicology (Iz arhiva Glasbenonarodpisnega inštituta). The collection is available online, where we publish past audio editions and add new ones. Etnofon consists of individual editions of selected sound recordings with accompanying texts, which are thematically rounded and present specific segments of the Slovenian musical tradition. The individual editions present typological, textual, dialectal, musical, dance and other characteristics of vocal and instrumental music, thus revealing both the common features and the diversity and variety of the musical tradition. Editorial board of the collection Marija Klobčar, Mojca Kovačič, Drago Kunej, Jan Ovnik, Teja Turk.
