Every year, the employees of the Research Centre in Nova Gorica in Izvestje present the results of their scientific research in the fields of history, linguistics, art history, librarianship and ethnology of the Western Slovenian ethnic region. Since 2010, in addition to the permanent sections “Articles” and “Report on the work”, Izvestje also has a section “Reports on the content of humanities and social science journals in Friuli-Venezia Giulia”, in which the content of the individual journals is presented to the eastern Italian region for Slovenian readers. The popular science journal Izvestje makes an important contribution to the knowledge and dissemination of new research results in the Western Slovenian region and to the general scientific culture in the humanities and social sciences.
