MSci Nina Caf

PROJEKT ARRS J7-1817: 5000 YEARS OF GRAZING AND MINING ACTIVITIES IN THE JULIAN ALPS (SLOVENIA) (2019-2022)

is, as part of her doctoral thesis (Palaeoecological reconstruction of human impact on the Holocene environmental changes in the Julian Alps, Slovenia, 2018–2022), analysing pollen from cores collected at Lake Jezero na Planini pri Jezeru, Lake Ledvica and lowland marsh near Srednja vas. As an undergraduate student at the University of Ljubljana and the University of Uppsala, Nina has carried out sedimentological and palaeontological research of Miocene and Pliocene sediments and sedimentary rocks, thus gaining experience in palaeoecological research and international cooperation.
