Call for Applications: Short-Term Visiting Researcher
Deadline date: December 10, 2025
The Research Centre of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts (ZRC SAZU), in accordance with the Methodology for the Allocation of S-ZRD-O Funds, announces an internal call for short-term research visits by foreign researchers in 2026.
The purpose of the call is to promote international collaboration on two levels:
- Early-career researchers – those planning to apply for a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship (MSCA PF) with ZRC SAZU as the host institution;
- Established researchers – those aiming to build new institutional links and long-term partnerships with ZRC SAZU research groups.
The call is open to researchers holding a PhD in any field. Visits last one month, and each candidate must secure a ZRC SAZU host employed at least 50% FTE at the time of publication.
Funding includes up to EUR 1,500 for international travel and daily allowances (€27.81/day). Accommodation is provided at the ZRC SAZU Postgraduate Residence; if a studio apartment is unavailable, an additional €1,500 is granted.
For the MSCA sub-scheme, the deliverable is the submission of an MSCA proposal within one year of the visit. Established researchers must deliver a lecture for an internal audience and outline opportunities for further cooperation.
Applications must be submitted electronically to RSF_razpisi@zrc-sazu.si by 10 December 2025, with the subject line APPLICATION FOR THE INTERNATIONAL BREAKTHROUGH SCHEME 4, MP_2026 CALL. Applicants will be notified of the results by 7 January 2026.
