ZRC SAZU Committee for Ethics, Integrity, and Equal Opportunities in Research

The ZRC SAZU Committee for Ethics, Integrity, and Equal Opportunities in Research (EIEO Committee) is a consultative body of ZRC SAZU that deals with issues in ethics, integrity, and equal opportunities in research, and it provides clarifications, opinions, and consensus on issues in these matters. The committee operates on the basis of the Regulations on the ZRC SAZU Committee for Ethics, Integrity, and Equal Opportunities in Research and the ZRC SAZU Strategy for Ethics, Integrity, and Equal Opportunities in Research.

The committee’s tasks include:

  • Advising and supporting staff on ethics, integrity, and equal opportunities in research;
  • Developing guidelines for dealing with issues of research ethics, integrity, and equal opportunities;
  • Conducting ethical reviews of research in the fields of ZRC SAZU institutes on the basis of voluntary reports;
  • Updating and renewing the Gender Equality Plan and periodically monitoring its implementation;
  • Participating in developing protocols for reporting and handling breaches of ethics and integrity, disrespectful behavior, abuse of position, ill treatment, and sexual or other harassment in the workplace;
  • Offering consultations, workshops, and training sessions on ethics, integrity, and equal opportunities in research;
  • Monitoring awareness of issues related to ethics, integrity, and equal opportunities in research at ZRC SAZU and proposing improvements in these areas.
