Information on Ethical Review of Research Involving Human Participants

The EIEO Committee conducts ethical reviews of research involving human participants upon request from individuals conducting research projects at ZRC SAZU. The review process follows the ZRC SAZU Research Ethics Review Policy. Its purpose is to assess the objectives and methods of the proposed research in advance, ensuring compliance with internationally recognized principles, standards, and guidelines of research ethics.

The application for ethical review must be submitted by the researcher conducting the study. The required elements of the application are specified in the Regulations. Applications must be submitted in writing and addressed to the EIEO Committee via email at komisija-EIEM@zrc-sazu.si. For guidance in preparing the application, researchers may consult the Ethics and Integrity Advisor.

The EIEO Committee issues a final decision on the application within two months of receipt. In certain cases, this deadline may be extended, so we encourage timely submission in accordance with the planned research timeline.
